What are the most common furnace repairs?

Most furnace trouble comes down to a short list: the flame sensor, the ignitor, the filter, the safety switches and the blower. Here is each one, what it does and what it typically costs.

What is the most expensive thing to fix on a furnace?

The heat exchanger. It is the wall between the fire and the air you breathe, it can cost $1,000 to $3,000 to replace, and a cracked one is a safety problem, not a comfort problem.

Why flush your water heater every year in the Valley

Phoenix serves some of the hardest municipal water in America, and every gallon leaves a little rock behind in your tank. Once a year, somebody should take the rock back out.
