Yes. Compact ducted mini-split air handlers feed short duct runs to two or three adjacent rooms through conventional registers. It is a middle path: less visible than wall heads, less tubing than high-velocity, with some of the duct-loss trade-offs of both.

High-velocity systems are known for strong moisture removal because of the coil design and long run times. Inverter mini-splits also dehumidify well at low speed. Neither replaces a dedicated dehumidifier in a house that feels damp, which is rare in Phoenix outside of August.

A mini-split has more indoor filters to clean but the equipment is accessible. A high-velocity air handler tucked into a tight attic can be harder to reach, and tubing behind plaster is not something anyone wants to open. Access is planned during the design, which is why the evaluation matters.
