Amana's split systems, packaged units and through-wall PTACs share a parent with Goodman and a climate with the rest of us. What that means for repair, parts and replacement in the Valley.
Schedule today — we’re here 24/7.

Independent service. Bleuwave HVAC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an authorized dealer of Amana. Amana and related product names are trademarks of their owners. We service and replace this equipment as an independent contractor.
Let us be plain about our relationship to the name, which is none. Bleuwave HVAC is an independent contractor. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or an authorized dealer of Amana or Daikin, and Amana, ComfortBridge, Daikin One and any other marks on this page belong to their owners. We service the equipment. We do not speak for it.
The PTAC and PTHP units have their own patterns. They sit low on an exterior wall, so their coils collect ground-level dust, their sleeves collect nests and their drains collect whatever the monsoon washes in. The wall sleeve also has to be sealed against the stucco or you are cooling the neighborhood. On the communicating equipment, fault codes are specific, and a mismatched thermostat is the most common self-inflicted wound we see. Homeowner troubleshooting is the short list: thermostat set to cool, a clean filter, one breaker reset, a look for ice on the line, and clear space around the outdoor unit. If the system still will not cool, shut it off and let a technician open the cabinet.
A PTAC that has failed is usually replaced rather than repaired, because the unit is self-contained and a new one slides into the same wall sleeve. Whether a casita or an addition should stay on a through-wall unit or move to a ductless mini-split is a design question, and design questions get answered in the room with a tape measure, not on a web page. We cannot size a system from here and we cannot diagnose one either.
The best money spent on any of this equipment is the least dramatic: a pre-summer tune-up that cleans the coil, checks the capacitor and clears the drain before June. When replacement is the right answer, the financing page explains options on approved credit, and an on-site evaluation turns a guess into a written, flat-rate scope.

They share a parent in Daikin Industries and a great deal of engineering, controls and accessories. Cabinet trim, feature packaging and pricing differ, and warranty terms are set separately by the manufacturer for each brand. For service purposes the overlap is helpful because common parts are easier to find. Our Goodman page covers the sibling brand.
Check that the mode is set to cool and the setpoint is below room temperature, then pull and inspect the filter, which on a PTAC clogs fast with ground-level dust. Look at the outside grille for leaves, nests or blocked fins. If it still blows warm, turn it off and call; a self-contained unit that has lost its charge or its compressor is typically a replacement rather than a repair.
You can power-cycle the system once at the breaker, and sometimes that clears a transient fault. If the code returns, it is telling a technician something specific about the equipment, and clearing it repeatedly only hides the message. Leave the system off and call; reading the code correctly is faster and cheaper than replacing parts on a guess.
If the repair is small and the unit is otherwise sound, yes. If the unit is well into its second decade and the failure involves the coil, the compressor or the refrigerant charge, the money is usually better spent on replacement. The honest-math field note shows how we think about it.
Yes. We are an independent, licensed and NATE-certified contractor, and independent contractors service every major brand. What we cannot do is represent Amana or Daikin on warranty questions; the manufacturer decides coverage based on your registration and paperwork. We give you a flat-rate price for the work regardless.
Inverter equipment from any manufacturer does well in homes with long afternoon cooling loads and monsoon humidity, because it can run at low capacity for hours. Whether it is right for your house depends on the ductwork, the returns and the electrical service, none of which a web page can measure. An on-site evaluation answers it; our inverter upgrade page explains what is involved.
Manufacturer warranty terms commonly depend on registration within a set period after installation, and those terms are set by the manufacturer, not by us. Keep your installation paperwork and check the serial plate against your registration confirmation. If you are unsure whether the equipment was registered, the manufacturer can look up the serial number.

Sizing, diagnosis and replacement scope happen in the house, not on a screen. Call (480) 863-5855 or schedule an on-site evaluation.
